Why do we suck at doing this?

How to become a goal-achieving machine.

Why do we suck at setting goals????

Because our goals look like this:


                      Lose 20 lbs


Instead, our goals should look like this: 

Workout 3 times a week (ink it in your calendar) &  Prepare food (set an exact date and time!).

The Mistake:

Setting your desired outcome as your goal is setting yourself for failure! 

The New Process: 

  • Define the desired outcome: Lose 20 lbs (for example). 
  • Get clear on the actions that will get you this outcome (come up with the workout plan, and menu)
  • Set actionable goals (set times to work out, and prepare the food).
  • Follow your action plan!

The Benefits: When your goal shifts from losing 20 lbs (desired outcome) to exercising 3 times/week (actionable steps), you:

    • Clear on what YOU need to do.
    • Get a 'WIN' every time you take action (fuel for motivation). 
    • You are 100% focused on the process, and your success and motivation are not contingent on any measurement other than your actions!

    The Results: 

    This minor shift in perspective has been helping my clients become successful goal achievers. They got the outcome they wanted in various areas, from weight loss through self-care, relationship money to career and business goals. 

    Make it about you!

    Look at your goals (or desired outcomes), and double-check that you are doing it in a way that is supporting your success. You can apply this to any goal.

    Sometimes, the only thing that separates success and failure is a slight shift in perspective!
